Dear Customers,
Since June 2026, global container freight rates have seen a significant increase, with the Middle East routes experiencing the sharpest rise. Due to strait closures and other factors, capacity in the Middle East remains tight, and shipping lines have been continuously raising rates and imposing emergency surcharges.
Currently, freight rates on many Middle East routes have exceeded $6,500 per 20-foot container, more than doubling since the beginning of the year. Rates on European and U.S. routes have also increased, though to a lesser extent.
The Middle East is an important market for Highfar. Currently, Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia is one of the few ports still accepting direct shipments of dangerous goods. Our epoxy curing agent products can be cleared directly through Jeddah Port, serving customers in Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.
However, due to tight capacity and continuously rising freight rates, there is significant uncertainty regarding transportation costs for future orders.
To avoid the cost pressure of further freight rate increases, we recommend that customers with near-term demand place orders as early as possible to secure capacity and lock in current freight rates.
Please note: The freight portion in Highfar's quotations is an estimate. At the time of actual shipment, freight charges will be based on the shipping line's prevailing rate. Any excess over the estimate will be invoiced at the actual cost.
We recommend that customers fully consider freight rate fluctuations in their budgeting and place orders early to minimize the impact of rising transportation costs on their projects.
Highfar will continue to monitor freight rate changes and port policies, and provide you with the latest logistics information. If you have any questions or need assistance with shipment arrangements, please feel free to contact your account manager or the Highfar team.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
