Sun-Resistant Polyamide Hardener: Proven by Accelerated UV Aging Tests
Category:Industry News Source:Highfar New Materials Release Time:2026-06-15 View:7

We often hear complaints from epoxy flooring and anticorrosive coating customers: when they use regular polyamide hardeners for light-colored topcoats, yellowing shows up within just a few months. The coating turns from bright white to dull yellow, and customers are not happy. The common response in the industry is often, "That's normal."

At Highfar, we didn't want to just say "that's normal" and leave it at that. So we went back to the lab and actually modified the formulation.

We also didn't want to rely on words alone. We put the product straight into a fluorescent UV aging tester (BGD 856), running under ASTM G154 conditions. This test method is widely recognized in the coating industry for predicting long-term weathering performance. Under these conditions, 17 hours of UV exposure simulates roughly one year of outdoor exposure.

The test results speak for themselves. This sun-resistant polyamide hardener offers significantly better yellowing resistance than conventional polyamide products. Side by side, the difference is clear: regular polyamide turns yellow after accelerated aging, while our modified formulation stays clean and bright.

What's more, this product has already been validated in the market. Several leading floor coating manufacturers in China have fully switched to this sun-resistant polyamide hardener in their mass production formulas. They have tested it on their own lines and received positive feedback from real-world applications.

If you are also looking for a polyamide hardener that resists yellowing better and longer, please contact the Highfar team for samples or technical support.
